Bollywood Stars at Cannes Film Festival

A film festival? Bollywood is bound to be there and in hordes! The biggest stars usually head out to the french riviera to attend cannes and to show off their style. They have usually had hits and misses with Indian fashion designers, including some absolute disasters over the years, but they in general prefer to wear International designers.

The styling tends to vary, as the celebs tend to opt for their favourite designers or a designer that is very popular at the moment. Very rarely do they experiment with new talent, and that is a shame. A shout out to Sonam Kapoor who recently wore a blue structured saree from a relatively unknown designer - well done!

Indian Celebs at IIFA in Madrid

The IIFA awards are one of the most glamorous and well attended by the stars. These are the awards that recognise the best in the industry and un-surprisingly, all the big names attend.

The awards themselves are not that interest to us, but most certainly the clothes that the stars wear are of massive interest. They range from the ultra glamorous to the mundane to the wtf. You'll see for yourself, and then make a decision for yourself.

The clothes are a mix of Indian and International designers, and it seems that some stars do have their favourites, but more often than not, they seem to select the designers that are currently in vogue. Ever-greens like Manish Malhotra are obviously high on the list and feature prominently in the Bollywood agenda. So are Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

Some of the biggest names in the industry, both Bollywood and Fashion come together, and this does not get better than Sonam and Abu Sandeep. Fashion royalty meets bollywood royalty and the result is, as expected, spectacular.

Sonam walked the ramp for the designers at their BMW bridal fashion week show and she looked absolutely stunning.

Bollywood stars love to wear traditional indian clothes and some of them look fantastic. Others on the other hand, look just meh! Indian clothes suit some people and others are just made for jeans and shirts.

In the blog, I look at some of the most famous bollywood stars wearing Indian clothes in a variety of settings like movie launches, airport looks and even celebrations like marriages and festivals. The style for each occasion is different, but the common thread is the bollywood celebs.

You are going to get a glimpse at some of the best saris, lenghas and anarkali suits worn by beautiful celebrities. For the men, there are going to be kurtas and sherwanis. I might sneak in the occasional contemporary styles, but only because I love the celebrities so much!
